Nexium 24HR Medicine is anesomeprazole 24 hour Heartburn Reliefmedication that is used to treat acute heart failure. This medicine containsIt is used to treat frequent heartburn in patients who are at least twice the age of the onset of heartburn that occurs in the 2nd and 3rd decade of life. It also helps to treat acute heart failure symptoms such as wheezing or shortness of breath, and the symptoms of acute heart failure may persist for a number of days after heartburn has completely gone. This medicine may also be used in combination with other heartburn treatments (e.g. exercise, fluid loss, and fluid-supplementing) to treat a patient who is not responding to other treatments. This medication should not be used in patients who are at high risk of kidney damage, or who are taking other medications that may increase the risk of kidney problems. This medicine may decrease the amount of sodium that is distributed through the body. This medicine may cause loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. This medicine may also increase the levels of certain other heartburn medications such as omeprazole (Prilosec), esomeprazole (Nexium), esomeprazole and esomeprazole/nexiazole (Nexzium) tablets, as well as sucralfate (Carafate) and lansoprazole (Alclofen).
Dose is based on the type of heartburn that is being treated. Esomeprazole is taken twice daily for 14 days. Nexium is taken once daily for 3 days. The recommended dose is 40 mg once daily.
